6 December 19, 1999 City of Oxford Planning Commission Oxford, MS Dear Planning Commission: Enclosed please find an application for variance to zoning ordinance. We are preparing to remodel our home located at 133 Sivley Street. We own lots 30 and 31 of Ammadelle Subdivision (see enclosed plats). The house we are going to remodel is the only home on the two lots. When the house was built, the existing setback of30' was not observed. our house is approximately 21' from the sidewalk. The front of Enclosed you will find a proposed floor plan, a front elevation plan and photos of the existing structure. The majority of the proposed additions will be to the back of the house. We do, however, wish to add a front porch to the house (the present front porch is actually just a covered entryway) and to extend the living room area. In order to make these changes, we need to extend the house an additional four or five feet beyond the existing front porch. (See enclosed photos of existing structure.) The proposed changes will not extend the structure beyond the concrete patio presently located at the front of the property. We have discussed this project with several of our neighbors. None had any objections to our request for a variance. Enclosed is a list containing the signatures of several residents of the neighborhood who approve of the project.
