2 September Crime Report 2016 PURPOSE: The purpose of this report is to provide an analysis of Coeur d Alene crime for the month of September Information provided: Compstat Report for calendar month and year to date. Compstat Monthly Map for calendar month. Month to Month Comparison Maps Part 1 Crimes (Compstat Crimes) by calendar month. Crime by Neighborhood & Locations of Field Interview Map for calendar month. Temporal Heat Index: Calls for Service Chart by time of day and day of week. Calls for Service Change by calendar month. Incident Report Change by calendar month. DATA SOURCE: The information used for this analysis was Summit / Spillman data compiled using CrimeView Mapping / Analysis and Crystal Report / Excel Statistical Charts

Dispositions: 5 closed by arrest and 2 active cases. Arson 50% Increase: One fire on the Fernan Lake hill side, the other was a slash pile just north of Target. Both suspected to be started by transients. The third incident was a bush outside a residence, this case lists a suspects and is currently under investigation. Auto Burglary 56% Decrease: District 83 had the most reported incidents for September. The majority of the vehicles were unlocked and/or the items were unsecured. Auto Burglaries by District Residential Burglary 27% Increase: No patterns or trends emerging. The majority of the cases had no suspect information. Dispositions: 5 closed by arrest, 5 active and 9 inactive cases Forcible Rape 63% Decrease: Dispositions: 1 closed by arrest and 2 active cases. Theft 13% Decrease: 40% of the incidents were shoplifting, 10% were stolen bicycles and the remaining were thefts where the suspect had legal access to or open to the general public. Vehicle Theft 17% Decrease: Three of the five vehicles have been recovered. A Harley motorcycle taken from the Ramada Inn and a 1994 yellow Acura Integra are still outstanding.
