13 Late Fee for license plate renewal Since 1979, plate expired midnight of last day of the month Cannot be charged with expired registration offense until after 15 th of the following month 2015 Budget enacted $15 late renewal fee, which became effective July 1, 2016 and applies to any renewal occurring after the last day of the month of expiration.
