Returned as part of an assisted voluntary return programme includes foreigners returned as part of an assisted return programme of IOM (in cooperation with Directorate of Alien Police Service) and of Refugee Facilities Administration (programme for asylum applicants). Data on FR: Statistics include only TCN returned to TCN countries. The first column applies to returned TCN subject to a return measure, whether the return is forced or voluntary or spontaneous. The second and third columns apply to the same voluntarily returned TCN since all the voluntary returns are assisted in FR. Data on NL: Numbers are rounded off to 5s. The numbers for NL in this Table are from different national sources. This explains some slight contrarieties especially between the numbers in the column on assisted return programs, when compared to the numbers in the columns on Forced return and voluntary return. Data on NO: The number of female and male individuals returned includes minors. Norway does not distinguish between voluntarily return and assisted return Data on SE: Data include Dublin transfers, returns to the country of origin, departures to unknown destinations, and departures to other third-countries. Data for "minors" are for minors who were unaccompanied by any parents or guardians at the time of return. Data on UK: 1. Dublin II individuals removed under Article 4.4 have been excluded from the statistics provided in regard to Article 7.1.b. 2. Multiple notices issued to the same person within a year are not counted. Currently it has not been possible to quality assure this information under National Statistics 16

Data on IT: 539 smugglers arrested at 13/08/2014 Data on NO: Number of smugglers arrested refers to suspected smugglers. No statistics on number of arrests. Data on PL: The statistics includes also PL nationals [84 PL nationals], and other EU nationals [French - 1, Spanish - 1, German - 9, Estonian - 1, British - 2, and Lithuanian - 2]. In total 100 EU nationals Data on SE: The figure given under "Number of third-country nationals identified as smuggled persons" (302) refers to the number of cases in which a suspicion of smuggling has been officially reported. The actual number of smuggled persons is not known. According to the Swedish Police, a large number of asylum seekers coming to Sweden is in practice forced to make use of smugglers to order to arrive on Swedish territory. This is due to the fact that Swedish authorities do not issue visas which would make it possible for asylum seekers to travel to Sweden legally (with a passport and a valid visa). 18
