9 Income and Poverty by Race/Ethnicity Per capita income of non-hispanic Whites is about two times that of Latinos, and much higher than that of Blacks Decreasing median household income for Latino and Black households, widening the gap between them and non- Hispanic Whites Declining poverty rates for all race/ethnicities during 2000s, but higher rates overall for people of color, particularly for Latinos and Blacks
