2 April GDP variation in % Asia (ex Japan) World Outlook stable The government declared a state of emergency last month in the selfadministered Kokang region and, in early March, clashes flared up again between Burmese soldiers and the ethnic minority rebels known as the National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA).
