2 Peacekeeping role: Peacekeeping is the use of multilateral forces to achieve several different objectives: Preventive deployment Enforce ceasefire Traditional peacekeeping (promoting order & preventing conflict) Implementation of comprehensive settlement Protect delivery of humanitarian relief Aid deployment of UN force in collapsed states
