4 The Antiviolence Centre of the Province of Rome Active since 1992, this antiviolence centre is the first opened in Rome. It is managed by the Ngo Differenza Donna. It provides hospitality for women victims for violence at high risk and their children. Other services provided by the Centre are: Counseling centre Alba for victims of stalking, support to the parenthood, psycho-social, health and legal support, business and economic empowerment counseling.

During the visit a case conference was simulated in order to compare the approaches and metrologies used respectively in Italy and in Palestine and to exchange visions, challenges and good practices.

During the meeting, at the presence of Franca Cipriani National Adviser for Equal Opportunities, Italian women s organizations and Tawasol Coordinators shared experiences on promoting gender policies and gender awareness.

Over the years, this abandoned place - self managed by a group of women - has turned into a space for women's selfdetermination and liberation from violence. Lucha y Siesta includes a shelter for 12 women with their children and provides information, guidance, counselling and legal advise. It is also a space where women can socialize, share experiences and enhance their skills. Since 2008 many women from Italy and from all over the world have gone through the house shaping it, making it a place where to restart a new life and restore their strength.

Mr Cassese stated that WELOD programme is one of the most successful experiences of the Italian international cooperation and that it will be taken as a model to be replicated in other countries.
