Vacant Position Position Title: Office clerk (Local Staff) Number of required: 1(one) position Type of Employment: One year* * Renewable. Subject to 3(Three)-month probationary period. Location: Embassy of Japan in Nigeria No.9, Bobo Street (off Gana Street), Maitama, Abuja, Nigeria Map: Applicability: All interested candidates Salary, Bonus and Allowance*: Depending on skills and experiences. * Model case of basic salary: N144, Naira per month for new office clerk at the age of 26, University graduate employee. Wage increase is considered upon renewal of contract. * To be announced to the successful candidate when the Embassy agree to recruit. * The starting salary will be the lowest amount of the salary range. Job Environment: Full-time (38hours45minutes/week)*. * Domestic travel, overtime work (including evenings, weekends and/or holidays), and response to urgent summons will be required from time to time. Working Hours: Mon Thu: 8:00 to 17:30 (Lunch break: 12:00 to 13:00) Fri: 8:00 to 12:45 Annual leave and Holidays: Provided in accordance with internal regulations. Essential Qualifications Citizen of Nigeria or non-nigerian with required residency status for employment with the correct visa or work permit. Commutable to the Embassy within 1(one) hour. Successful completion of University education or higher*. Excellent communication skills in English (Speaking/Reading/Writing)*. * Language proficiency will be tested. Proficient in internet and computer software* * MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Full valid Nigerian driving license* holder * Must be familiar with the Nigerian driving laws. 2 Ability to work well under pressure and establish priorities, to achieve duties*, to research relevant and valid information, and to be highly organized with a strong ability to meet deadlines. * Includes Secondary School level calculations Ability to work well in a small team, working independently while taking a proactive approach to the role (particularly under pressure). Good health and Fitness 3. Asset Qualifications Knowledge of the Nigerian/International political-security situation and Nigerian government structure, especially security agencies is a strong asset. Fluency in Hausa and/or Japanese would be considered an advantage. Knowledge of Japan and Japanese culture is advantageous. 4.
