1 2017 Visa Information Dreams of a Nation During your program you will visit both Thailand and Myanmar. US citizens are not required to obtain a tourist visa for stays less than 30 days in Thailand but they must apply for a visa for Myanmar prior to program. Requirements for non-us citizens vary widely. Please note that Rustic Pathways has partnered with G3 Global Services to provide support for the visa process. For US Citizens and residents, G3 can assist with visa applications as well as passport renewals for a fee paid directly to G3. G3 can also assist with the Myanmar E-Visa for students from any country for a fee paid directly to G3. G3 will refer non-us residents who must apply for a consular visa to the appropriate embassy, consulate or resource as needed free of charge. Myanmar E-Visa Many nationalities are able to apply online for a Myanmar E-Visa for the Dreams of a Nation program. If this option is available to you, we recommend that you use this option to obtain your tourist visa. Citizens of the following countries are eligible for the E-Visa: United States United Kingdom Spain France Canada Turkey China And many others. For a complete listing of citizens eligible for the E-Visa please visit: When to Apply We recommend you apply for your visa four to six weeks prior to departure. The E-Visa approval letter must be used to enter Myanmar within 90 days of issue. It takes about two weeks or less to process the visa. Application Information To acquire an e-visa please visit the Government of Myanmar website at and follow the instructions provided below. The cost of the e-visa if applying directly through the government website is $50 USD. Alternatively, you may use G3 or another visa service to assist with the application for a fee. If you elect to use G3 services please use the instruction sheet from G3 attached at the end of this document. G3 can assist with the E-Visa application for students from any country. Important Notes and Details Your passport must be valid for six months from the date of departure from your home country. We strongly recommend you have at least 3 to 5 blank pages available, as entrance requirements frequently change and you may be denied entry should these pages be unavailable.

2 A current passport style photograph must be uploaded and submitted with the application. The photo should be professionally taken at a shop that offers passport photo services. It should have a white background and you should be sitting straight and looking directly at the camera. You can find an example on the e-visa website. You will need a MasterCard, Visa or American Express card for payment of visa fee ($50USD). Please ensure your pop up blocker is turned off when going through this e-visa process. You will need a pop up window to provide next step information. Within 3-10 business days, you should receive a Visa Approval Letter containing a barcode. If you do not receive the Approval Letter, keep checking the status of your application on the Myanmar immigration website using your application number and passport number ( You are required to bring this Visa Approval Confirmation Letter with you to Myanmar as Ministry of Immigration and Population requires you to produce it for verification when you arrive in Myanmar. Consular Visa If you are not eligible for the E-Visa, you must apply for a consular visa through the appropriate embassy. You should apply for a tourist visa.
