1 In focus The Nansen Dialogue Network in Macedonia
2 Nansen Dialogue Centre Skopje, Republic of Macedonia Established in 2000, NDC Skopje is a local non-governmental and non-profit organization that was set up to support and promote dialogue. NDC Skopje vision is of a democratic society in which dialogue is the everyday tool for problem resolution between individuals, groups or communities; a society in which peace, multiethnic cohesion, integration, equality and tolerance are the main values. Our mission is to contribute to peace building, supporting and strengthening through our activities the dialogue, reconciliation and integration process in the Macedonian society in general and, more specifically, within the educational system.
3 Target Groups and Activities Target groups: Community leaders and local politicians; Educational authorities, teachers, parents and students Activities Local community reconciliation programmes; Dialogue seminars with politicians and parents; Integrated, multicultural and bilingual teaching: training of primary and secondary school teachers; Design of school curricula for integrated, multicultural and bilingual primary and secondary education. Development of training materials. Publications.
4 Achievements Project: Integrated Bilingual Primary School Fridtjof Nansen Municipality of Jegunovce Reconciliation Programme Project: Integrated Bilingual Secondary School Fridtjof Nansen Municipality of Jegunovce The project Integrated bilingual primary school is part and result of the reconciliation program which Nansen Dialogue Center from Skopje has started to implement in Jegunovce Municipality in The school was opened on 1 st of September, st of September, 2010 NDC Skopje in partnership with the Macedonian Ministry for Education and Science and the municipality of Jegunovce, opened Integrated Bilingual Secondary School.
