3 Section 3 - Eligibility for the Sanctuary Scholarship We will use your answers in this section to help determine whether you meet the eligibility criteria for the Sanctuary Scholarship in relation to your current immigration status. 3.1 What was your date of arrival in the UK? 3.2 Please select the category that best describes your immigration status in the UK. 4 Section 5 - Personal Statement for the Sanctuary Scholarship 5.1 Reason for wanting to study at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Unfortunately, the university cannot provide funding to support your living costs and accommodation. Explain how you have financially supported yourself in the UK up until now and how will you support yourself at university. Here you can also provide details of any benefits or allowances you receive to buy food and essential items. 4

6 Section 7 Declaration All decisions made by the university are taken in good faith based on the statements made on your scholarship application, your course admissions application and your referee s supporting statement. If the university discovers that you have made a false statement or have omitted significant information from your application form, for example regarding your qualifications, the university may reject your application. I acknowledge that this is a competitive process and that submitting an application for the Sanctuary Scholarship does not guarantee that it will be successful.
