Corina Demetriou She is a freelance legal researcher specialising in racism, discrimination, immigration, asylum and sex trafficking. Since 2007 she is the national expert of the European Legal Network of Legal Experts in the non-discrimination field. Jan Dobbernack (jan.dobbernack@bristol.ac.uk) Research Assistant at the Research Centre for the Study of Ethnicity and Citizenship at the University of Bristol. His research interest is in the area of ethnic minority accommodation and, in particular, in the development of comparative and critical perspectives in this field. Angéline Escafré-Dublet (angeline.escafre@sciences-po.org) Postdoctoral fellow in the Center for International Studies and Research (CERI) in Sciences Po, Paris. She obtained a PhD in History from Sciences Po, Paris in 2008, prior to which, she was a Visiting Fellow for two years at the University of Chicago hosted at the Center for the Study of Race, Politics and Culture. From 2008 to 2010, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the research unit on International Migration and Minorities at the National Institute for Demographic Studies (INED), Paris. She was part of the EMILIE research team, a FP6 Project of the European Commission. Her research interests focus on migration and how this relates to matters of politics and culture in Europe and North America. She teaches immigration history in Sciences Po. Her research interests focus on minority issues, antidiscrimination policies, inter-ethnic/inter-religious interactions, identity formation, Islam and Christianity in the Balkans, places of memory and the creation of national mythologies. Marcel Maussen (M.J.M.Maussen@uva.nl) PhD in social sciences (2009, with honor) based on a study on public debates on mosque building in France and the Netherlands. Since 2008 Marcel Maussen works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science of the University of Amsterdam. Nasar Meer (Nasar.Meer@Northumbria.ac.uk) Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the Department of Social Sciences, Northumbria University. His research explores the relationships between minority identities and citizenship programmes. He is particularly interested in arenas of education, anti-discrimination, political participation, and public and media representation. (EUI) is Professor of Political Theory and Citizenship Studies in the Political Science Department, Aarhus University Nina Mühe She holds a Masters degree in Cultural Anthropology and is an Academic Associate at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder, Germany. Nina has worked in the field of migration and Muslims for a number of years and on a variety of different related projects including as a researcher and author in the Open Society Institute s (OSI) monitoring project At Home in Europe, on Alternative Voices on Integration (Institute of Race Relations, London) as well as a trainer for the Religious Diversity Programme of Ceji, Brussels. Alina Mungiu-Pippidi (alinamp@sar.org.ro) President of SAR, she is Professor of Democratisation Studies at the Hertie School of Governance. She was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford, Harvard, the European University Institute, St. Antony's College of Oxford University etc. She has authored and co-authored several books and academic articles on nationalism and minority-majority relationship such as Nationalism after Communism. Hans-Ingvar Roth (hans-ingvar.roth@edu.su.se) Professor of education at Stockholm University and has a doctorate in Ethics from Lund University. He has written extensively on multicultural education, human rights, affirmative action and minority rights. 6 Nathalie Rougier She holds degrees in Social Psychology from the Université Blaise Pascal and the University of Ulster (PhD). She was research co-ordinator for the ITENIBA Project at University College Dublin ( ) and collaborated to two projects at the KMI in Vienna ( ). Her research interests lie in identity (re)definition over time and across socio-cultural contexts; intergroup and inter-cultural relations; integration and acculturation processes. Werner Schiffauer Professor for Comparative Social and Cultural Anthropology Europa- Universität Viadrina Frankfurt/Oder. He has worked on the transformation of rural and urban Turkey, on labour migration, the organization of diversity in European Societies and recently on Islam in Europe. He is Associate Professor of Law and Sociology and Director of the Centre of the Study of Migration, Inter-ethnic and Labour Relations at the University of Nicosia. He is, since 2008, senior research consultant at PRIO Cyprus Centre. He is the national expert for Cyprus of the European networks of experts on Free Movement of Workers (2008-) and Labour Law and of the Independent Network of Labour Migration and Integration Experts (LMIE-INET) for the International Organization for Migration. Zsuzsa Vidra PhD from Écoles des Hatues Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. She currently works as a research fellow of the ACCEPT PLURALISM project at the Central European University, Center for Policy Studies. Ricard Zapata-Barrero (ricard.zapata@upf.edu) Professor of political theory at the Department of Political and Social Sciences. His main lines of research deal with contemporary issues of liberal democracy in contexts of diversity, especially the relationship between democracy, citizenship and immigration. Her research work deals with minority rights, coexistance of Christianity and Islam in Bulgaria and in the Balkans, migrations, and Ottoman history.
