Leg. 2. Regulation 2 (3) of the Education (Registration of Un Schools) Regulations is amended by deleting the expressio shillings" and substituting "one hundred shillings". NG'EN Minister for Basic Edu LEGAL NOTICE No. 29 THE REGISTRATION OF PERSONS ACT (Cap. 107) IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 16 Registration of Persons Act, the Minister for Constitutional and Affairs makes the following Rules: THE REGISTRATION OF PERSONS (AMENDMENT RULES, These Rules may be cited as the Registration of P (Amendment) Rules, 1981, and shall be deemed to have com force on the 6th February, Sub. Leg. 2. The Registration of Persons Rules (hereinafter call principal rules) are amended by deleting paragraph (2) of rule Rule 3 of the principal rules is revoked and replaced following- 3. The identity card issued under section 8 of the Ac consist of a card, in the form set out in the First Sched these Rules, which shall be sealed in a plastic envelope. 4. Rules 4 and 5 of the principal rules are amended by d the expressions "Fourth Schedule" and "Fifth Schedule" app respectively therein and substituting "Second Schedule" and Schedule" respectively.

2 (a) by deleting the words "which may be supplied to a registratio officer" and substituting "required"; (b) by deleting subparagraph (a) and substituting the following (a) measure 1+ inches by 1 inch;. 6. Rule 8 of the principal rules is amended (a) in paragraph (1), by inserting after "and shall permit" the words "his photograph to be taken and"; (b) in paragraph (2), by deleting "Sixth Schedule" and substitutin "Fourth Schedule"; (c) in paragraph (5), by deleting the expressions "the certificat of identity contained in" and ", issued under subsection (6 of section 9 of the Act,"; (d) in paragraph (6), by deleting "four shillings" and substitutin "ten shillings". 7. The principal rules are amended by revoking rules 9 to 14 inclusive and substituting the following new rule- 9. (1) Where a registered person changes his name or plac of permanent residence, he shall, unless he can still be readil located through his previous address, without undue delay atten before a registration officer, give to him the particulars of th change in the form in the Fifth Schedule, and permit his lef thumb impression to be taken on that form. (2) In the case of change of name the registered person sha in addition supply the registration officer with an affidavit verify ing particulars of that change. (3) The particulars given under paragraphs (1) and (2) sha be complete in all respects and shall be such as will enable th Principal Registrar readily to communicate with the registere person. (4) The registered person shall at the same time surrende his identity card, pay a fee of ten shillings, and permit his photo graph to be taken for the purpose of enabling a new identit card to be issued to him. (5) The registration officer shall thereupon fill in and sign a certificate in the form in the Fourth Schedule, on which th registered person shall permit his left thumb impression to be recorded, and issue the certificate to the registered person, (6) The registration officer shall without delay forward th form, the photograph and the surrendered identity card to th Principal Registrar who shall record the changes in the register cancel the surrendered identity card, and issue a new identity card in accordance with the new particulars. (7) Rule 8 (3) and (4) shall apply mutatis mutandis to certificate issued under this rule.

6 The holder of the certificate must report at the office specifi in Column III above after the expiration of 30 days from the da of issue of the certificate, but not later than 60 days after issue, surrender this certificate in exchange for a new identity card ( rules 8 (3) and 9 (7) of the Registration of Persons Rules).
