2 A school store should be a nice place for students to go if they need something extra, like a snack or maybe a notebook. Some could even go as far as to maybe a coffee stand. At least the students should know that one actually exists. The Paw is the name of the school store at Blair High School. It is closed most of the time unless someone asks to buy something out of it. It only sells Blair apparel and is run by librarian Krystal Macholan and library assistant Katie Goeken. Nobody else helps with the store and all of the profits go to the school. Something should be done about the school s store. A lot of students don t even know that we even have a store. One of the problems of the store is that it is not advertised very well. Nobody knows where the store is because nobody has ever told the students where it is. If there was an occasional poster or a little note in the announcements, it would get a little more popularity. Another problem with the store is that there isn t a lot of people to help run it. With only two people running it, there isn t going to be a lot of new merchandise because the store will never be open and nobody will get a chance to buy anything. If Macholan and Goeken had a few extra hands, from one of the many clubs in our school, then there could be a better possibility of getting some new upgrades to the store to make it better. The Paw doesn t have a lot to offer. It has a few leftover t-shirts and some other Blair wear, maybe even a few water bottles. Most of the students already have all the Blair apparel they need. It s always good to have some shirts, but there needs to be more of a variety in what it sells. The only hope Macholan and Goeken have is that the Principal Tom Anderson will get them some more variety in what they sell. There would also be more of a profit from the store if they got more stuff because people would want to buy it, snacks and beverages especially. Although it would cost money to buy more things to stock up the store, the money earned from it could continue to pay it back as it sells more. Our school store has the potential of being a great place for people to stop by and get a quick snack or a needed school supply. With just a few changes and some help, business could be booming shortly. 2/6
