1 FEBRUARY 2013 SWEEPS REPORT Increased Dominance Every Day, Every Newscast #1 Early Morning News Grew in Every Hour, Year to Year *4:30 AM Up 33% *5:00 AM Up 29% *6:00 AM Up 8%
2 FEBRUARY 2013 SWEEPS REPORT A Spirit of Teamwork, Passion to Improve Television viewing was up and Channel 2 increased its position of dominance over its competition. The station ranked #1 in 21 ½ hours in the average day. The Early Morning News from 4:307 a.m. grew at a particularly commanding amount as competitors lost audience. This was a tremendous book for Channel 2 all the way around, said Vice President and General Manager Tim McVay. Our employees have tremendous passion and desire to be outstanding. Even with our strong position in the market, we are always challenging ourselves to get better and better at delivering the kind of coverage Atlanta viewers demand. Covering latebreaking news, severe weather, investigating local stories, keeping officials honest and showing viewers what is happening in their neighborhoods are our commitments to the Atlanta and North Georgia community, said Mike Dreaden, news director for Channel 2 Action News. We do that every day over a vast array of platforms, from television and online to mobile handsets and tablets. We use each to our viewers advantage, keeping them informed at a moments notice.
