Old Business/New Business Next Committee Meeting: Tuesday, November 15, 2016 Committee Members: Mark Foley, Kurt Wachholz, and Ann Wilson The PTV Committee Meeting is not a Board Meeting despite the fact that a quorum of the Board is present at the committee meeting. Actions taken by a committee shall serve as recommendations to the Board for ultimate action. * Other members of the MATC Board may be present, although they will not be participating as members of this committee. This meeting may be conducted in part by telephone. Telephone speakers will be available to allow the public to hear those parts of the proceedings that are open to the public. ** Action may be taken on any agenda item, whether designated as an action item or not. Agenda items may be moved into Closed Session for discussion when it becomes apparent that a Closed Session is appropriate under Section of the Wisconsin Statutes. The Board may return into Open Session to take action on any item discussed in Closed Session. Milwaukee Public Television educates, informs, entertains, and stimulates the imagination of adults and children alike. We make the best use of noncommercial media and related services to enhance the quality of life in our community by encouraging people to consider issues and explore ideas, and by inspiring a continued sense of wonderment. Present: Kurt Wachholz and Ann Wilson. Mark Foley joined by phone. ITEM B: WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW The Public Television Committee meeting was noticed in compliance with the Wisconsin Open Meetings Law. ITEM C: APPROVAL OF MINUTES C-1 Approval of Minutes March 15, Attachment 1 Motion Action ITEM D: It was moved by Mr. Wachholz and seconded by Ms. Wilson to approve the minutes of March 15, Motion approved. COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC NONE ITEM E: ACTION ITEMS E-1 Annual Approval of Sole Source Media Service Products Attachment 2 Motion It was moved by Mr. Wachholz and seconded by Ms. Wilson to approve the Annual Approval of Sole Source Media Service Products. ITEM F: DISCUSSION ITEMS F-1 General Manager s Report Discussion Mr. Bohdan Zachary, general manager, highlighted the following: MPTV successfully concluded the 48 th annual Great TV Auction MPTV received two awards from The Milwaukee Press Club. The Gold Award for Best Documentary was awarded to BEHIND THE PEARL EARRINGS: THE STORY OF DICKEY CHAPPELLE. Our local weekly series THE ARTS PAGE received the Gold Award for the Best Long Form feature. The new MPTV website design, new staff and member t-shirts, and the refreshed MPTV logo was shared with the committee. In August MTPV will welcome Pati Jinich, popular PBS chef from Pati s Mexican Table, to Milwaukee. Pati will speak at the UWM Golda Meir Library, tape an interview for Adelante, host a live Pledge drive and is the special featured guest at Mexican Fiesta. Also in August, we will host a group of about 24 general managers of PBS Stations across the nation as well as PBS representatives for the PBS Executive Leadership meeting. MPTV will premiere the new episode of MAKING OF MILWAUKEE in October and SEARCHING FOR HOME COMING BACK FROM WAR with a special screening on October 19 th at the Milwaukee County War Memorial.

5 Public Television Minutes of June 21, 2016 Page 3 This week marks the end of two long running productions, Interchange and I Remember. MTPV is working on crafting new local programs to fill the needs of the community. The committee requested that an item for MPTV and Early Childhood Development be added to the Agenda for August. F-2 Monthly Advertising Fund Expenditures May, June, and July Attachment 6 Discussion Mr. Zachary presented the Monthly Advertising Fund Expenditures from May, June, and July F-3 Dashboard Indicators Attachment 7 Discussion Mr. Zachary presented the Dashboard Indicators including the Development Department s current revenue totals for FY15-16 and the top Programs on WMVS for February F-4 Great TV Auction and Auction Facility Financial Report Discussion Mr. Zachary presented the Great TV Auction and Auction Facility Financial Report from FY2007 to FY2015. He mentioned that the staff is investigating ways to run the Auction more efficiently in FY17. F-5 FY17 MPTV Productions Discussion ITEM G: Mr. Zachary presented the FY 17 MPTV Productions highlighting special projects and local programming.
